Escalator at 12th St./Oakland Station closed for improvements starting 8/22/22

The 12th St./Oakland City Center Station escalator at the corner of 13th Street and Broadway in the middle of the station will be out of service starting Monday, August 22, 2022 so the unit’s bull gear bearing can be replaced. The escalator runs between the upper level platform and the concourse level. It is expected to reopen for riders on Friday, October 7, 2022.

During the closure, riders are being advised to the escalators located at the north and south ends of the station. These escalators also run between the upper level platform and the concourse level. Riders can also use nearby stairwells.

Temporary wayfinding signs will be in place to direct customers.  We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
